Update: July 28, 2020
The Inter-Agency Review Committee (IRC), which includes representatives from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), has reached concurrence on the Preliminary Preferred Alternative (PPA), Concept 3B bridge replacement (click here to view under Maps and Plans).
Resolutions of Support were passed for the PPA, Concept 3B, by the Borough of East Newark, City of Newark, Town of Harrison, Town of Kearny, Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders in July 2015. The Local Concept Development (LCD) Study Phase is completed and the project will advance to the Local Preliminary Engineering (LPE) Phase in the coming year.

Update: August 7, 2019
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has provided a preliminary review of the navigational survey results.
Click here to view the July 10, 2019 letter. Although the letter references three (3) bridges, each project is independent of the others.
